Hey! Hopefully you will. I remember when I took the MCAT. I thought I did horrible and ended up doing amazing! I remember it was a long wait until June though to find out. Hang in there!

Hehe, sorry for my crudeness. I had a terrible meeting with someone yesterday and this person kept telling me how I'll never make it just because of one bad semester, even though I've had straight A's since then. They were so hurtful I just had to lash out.

Was it a SMU advisor? I had a meeting with one of the advisors in January and she told me that if I wasn't a more patient person than I wouldn't be a great doctor.

She said this after I declined the offer to be a tutor in chemistry. WTF? like teaching college kids who don't understand general chemistry because they're being lazy = not being a good doctor?

Still don't understand her logic.

Why is it that people who are not in the medical field are so quick to put down those who want to join it? Every doctor I've ever known (and I've known my fair share throughout my life) has told me that I have what it takes to make it. I've won national championships in health care for crying out loud! All the doctors and nurses I know tell me I'll rock as a doctor, while the random people say stupid stuff like, "You'll never be a doctor." What does that even mean? How would they know?

I think it's because you hear it all the time when you're in school from the attendings. People dumping on you just becomes a part of medicine. You really just have to learn to let it roll off you. That's the best advice I can give!

Also, remember what it was like for you and don't do it to anyone else. The "you won't make it" speech is almost as bad as the "medicine sucks - get out why you can" speech from interns. So last week!
